Revelation day

Today I received some interesting news/revelations in recent times, from the saddest to the most unthinkable.

***My heart was broken when I received a text from a former classmate this morning. She told me that a classmate of ours who we're so fond of in HS had just lost her barely a week-old baby who suffered from a heart ailment. I don't know what to say to her so I just texted her and sent her a message in YM. It hit me that it might be less painful if you lose your child before you give birth.. nonetheless the pain could be unbearable. Good Lord, I don't want to even imagine it... my prayers are with you friend, and to all you parents who have experienced the same thing...

On a more lighter stuff:

***A friend told me why our other friend did not pursue her way back. I didn't expect the reason to be such. I literally laughed-out-loud, and chatted with her at work more than I should.

***Talk about small world or the law of six-degree of separation, I just found out today that my teammate is actually my 2nd cousin's 1st cousin! Haha! I only meant to ask her how she was linked to my cousin in friendster, then it just hit me that they have the same surname! Lo and behold, Rojie is actually first cousins with Jeff, Jake and Allan!!!

***A friend who was the ex of a close friend invited me to his wedding. I was semi-surprised since we haven't been talking much lately. I think it's also God's plan for my girl friend to be in some place during his wedding. I still pray that they may finally settle whatever it is unsettled between the 2 (there is, though they try to deny it)...

While blogging, I received another news, a close friend from BLD Youth is having a baby! Yey! I'm so happy for you Icedlava! I was telling her that I envision her naming her child with either a very pinoy name or something nature-related. But she told me she wanted to name the child as "Antonio"... errr.. wrong guesses... hehehehe

Me & my bookmarks

I've been collecting bookmarks for 2+ years already. I have the usual paper ones from Papemelrotti and National Bookstore, to the fancier ones which my BFF Tatiana have generously supplied to me ever since she migrated to the US of A.

Call me absurd, pathetic or just plain fanatic... but when I read, I make sure that the design of the bookmark I use is related to what I'm reading.

Here's some example:

"I am unique in the whole world" from Papelmelrotti for my journal

Pink and blue Butterflies (kikay design) with a Shopaholic book

"Angelina Fairy" with Artemis Fowl (some characters in the book are fairies)

Bookmark with the words "Vividly" and "Dream" perfect with Neverwhere

The Historian with the WoT bookmark since there's an Order of the Dragon mentioned in the story

Had my hair cut after 3 months, and as usual, it's layered in the back and in the sides with side-bangs. I'm still gathering enough courage to have my hair done short again, which I last have 10 years ago for fear of looking fatter. Moreso now when my only consolation in the summer heat are ice cream, cold juice drinks/shakes and my ever reliable chocolates and cookies...

Bring me back to the beach...

... haay... I wish to go back to the beach before this summer ends...

Paranoid

Damn this stupid paranoia... the past few times I woke up in the middle of the night.. I always wonder if something creepy will happen to me.

Yes I'm freaking the **** out of me.

This is what you get while reading "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova (vampire lore) and after watching the snakes attack the passengers in "Snakes on a Plane". OMG, I don't want to even remember the latter, it just doubles my heartbeat and gives me goosebumps all over!

But one thing I like about reading that book is that it brings back my early childhood dream to become a historian. I'm no whiz though, in memorizing the dates on when this dude conquered some land, or how this brilliant mind came about with this whatever. And even as some bloke from "The History Boys" define History as "one fucking thing after the other...", you can't leave it behind as it makes you appreciate how even bad things bring something good. *Bow*

I'll also be changing my email signature after being in between teams for a few weeks already.

No more daily 10 AM and 1 PM M/W meetings.
My weeknights and weekends will now be support free.
(No more calls in the wee hours -- wee!)

DIEGO LUNA IS MARRIED TO INOCENTI DE TI!

Okay, I need to catch my breath first...

I spent friday night swooning over Diego Luna aka Javier in Dirty Dancing Havana Nights. Everytime he moves, I thought I'd fall off the side of the bed. He seems to not age a bit since Y Tu Mama Tambien. He's got the boy-next-door look, and his mexican accent just added 10000 more pogi points to his already 1 million pogi points. So when I searched him in IMDB, my heart just fell when I saw a forum title of "just married.."... then the wonders of google led me to this: diego-luna-married-too and they even have a copy of their marriage certificate! How can you beat that!??! As if!?!?! Hehehe

Speaking of wedding bells, 2 friends just told me several days ago that they will be getting married next year, and may even be on the same date! I told this to my mom, and as expected made a comment that my friends are getting married while I.....

YES! I'M VERY MUCH AWARE OF THAT.
