Hello 2009

Perfect timings for the new year:

* I just confirmed that I got 2 dead toenails. The murderer were my running shoes which are just about my size. I remembered the pain I experienced in the same toenails after I did the 12k run. Mental note to buy that Mizuno shoes that has been on my mind since I saw it last month (which btw is the only brand that has a size bigger than my big feet - at the women's line!) Argh, if only I can buy it soon enough! At the moment, I need to have polished toes as long as the dead have not yet returned to life (is there a quicker way?)

* Got a deadline to finish a CR by Tuesday EOD... maybe Wednesday AM (really AM)... but that's the deadliest deadline. I'm still hopeful I can deliver it on time (if I beat procastinating - that's it). It sure is a huge effort to be doing something that 80% I find challenging, ergo, interests me, 20% part of me is thinking - wtf I'm still doing it. Yes, this is really a humbling experience.

* And yes, I still have that (chuva)career development (more chuvaness) plan that I haven't drafted which is due on the 15th. For the past 2 years, I haven't even revisited the one I do each year after I submitted one as a requirement.

For the hopeless romantic...

Real love knows no boundaries... how I love this couple's story:

*It'll soon to be an MMK episode. Cool!

Xmas party

Last night was the company's 1st low-budget Xmas party. Which was a bit of a drag saved for Parokya ni Edgar's fun and energy-filled performance and the time spent hanging out with my ex-teammates. I was lucky to be able to experience the grandiose Xmas parties held in the past. I know we're goint through a crisis, and there are tougher times ahead, yes, this is better than not having one, but it could've been done better.

I also got 3-sec airtime in the video shown from the Fund Run last Saturday. Dang, not only I need to enhance my speedwork, but also tone my body down as I looked bulky on screen!

Patch and I were standing on chairs about 5 meters from the stage. We had a good view of Parokya playing, so when Vinci was singing and went down the stage and walked towards us I got scared he might go near me haha. Well he did, and he stopped to sing uber closely to the girl across me. He was so funny! At some point he was even pointing at me! I remembered having a school girl crush on him during the height of their career (well they're still up there), and being that close to a former (showbiz) crush, it was scary! AHAHAHAHA

Xmas is just around the corner and I'm not feeling it. My mind is in chaos of so many things. I need to refocus and prioritize, and for once, work on those priorities.

bad day, so what

my day started with me singing "you have a bad day..."

... and this evening I was singing "so what, i'm still a rockstar,... i'm alright, i feel fine..."

... and I will perhaps end this day with singing "bad day" again..

I was never miss-bright-morning-sunshine anyway.

Grouchy mode still on, and I don't give a damn.

I'm back!

After 2 months abroad, I've air freight about 35 kilos of stuff, and brought home 31.5 checked-in baggage, a 6.5 carry on luggage and a bulging laptop bag.

And yes, I was just there for 2 months.

Good timing, I went home this November, which is just a few weeks away from Christmas. So my pasalubongs are now "slash" Xmas gift. hehehehe.. well except maybe for my family.

Everything seems to be pretty much the same just when I left. But I see things in a different picture now. It really helps that you go out of your zone and experience new things. You'll see how things are better at the other side of the world, but , far better than your own, but there you will appreciate how much "home" means to you, even if the sorroundings fare less.

Some notes from being onshore:
*I really love my family, and I easily get worried about them
*I like living independently
*I can't be a fun-fearless-female all-the-way. Still a "dalagang pilipina"
*I love the outdoors
*I can be an energizer bunny
*I love being surrounded with a variety of people from different cultures

Anyway, I'm back to my old life. No more weekend escapades or city tours. I'll be back to my usual work-home-sometimes-mall-home routine. We'll see how much of my Sydney life I can still continue here.

N.B.
I'm running 10 KMs on Sunday - God Bless me!

dragging mode

Dragging MP3s to-and-fro IPODs is both time consuming and definitely DRAGGING!

I have put off filling my new ipod with songs till I got back in Manila because I wanted to make good use of the remaining time I have in Sydney.

I was supposed to buy a new digicam or lomo, or maybe replace my old phone, but instead I found myself drooling over the new ipod nanochromatics last September. So when the AUD slipped, the next day after work, I excitedly got cash and headed to the Apple store in George st. I already set my eyes on the yellow nano, but here goes my fickle brain again, I still hang around a few mins, circled the nano tables, deciding if I should still go for the yellow or buy another color...

In the end, I sticked to the yellow and tried the "shake technology" by uploading 2 songs - Electric Feel by MGMT, which is like my Aussie onshore theme song since I discovered it while down under, and is part of the daily playlist in the radio station some "mates" listen to at work. The other song, is still Electric Feel, as covered by Katy Perry.

My ipod-fever also spread to my co-onshore mates, Joan who originally thought of buying a nano, ended with an iTouch (bought an hour before I bought mine), Cat also bought a nano about 2 weeks after, while Rojie almost bought one.

Good thing I bought it in Sydney, I saw earlier that it was almost 12k here in the Phils.

Back to transferring.. it's still in progress... haay.. but it surely is quicker now unlike on my first ipod, which I spent a full day going through my hard drive and CDs for the songs to be tranferred.
